Description
The decking oil is a clear, golden blend of linseed oils, ideal for those who wish to protect their outdoor wooden decking.
Our decking oil can be used on all types of wood, including Douglas fir, larch, pine, spruce, hardwood and pressure-treated timber. Both new and old decking will benefit from our eco-friendly decking oil.
It penetrates deep into the wood whilst providing good surface protection. Your decking is protected against drying out and cracking, and the wood is less likely to warp. Furthermore, the oil is breathable, allowing the wood to ‘breathe’.
Coverage: approx. 6 m² per litre, depending on the absorbency of the surface
You can choose whether you would like the decking oil with or without a fungicide.
The decking oil must be left to cure for at least one day after application before the decking can be used with care. The decking oil is fully cured after approximately one week.
Risk of spontaneous combustion! Rags or paper soaked in linseed oil can easily catch fire. Store rags and paper soaked in linseed oil in an airtight metal container or immerse them in water.
When oiling wood, it is important that the wood is clean, dry and free from algae and mould.
If the surface is affected by algae and mould, clean it with wood cleaner and/or algae remover (follow the instructions on the product).
If the wood is new or very dry, it is advisable to treat it first with linseed oil primer.
Before you start oiling:
The wood must be cleaned before oiling if it is dirty or affected by algae and mould.
Cleaning with warm water and a stiff brush is often sufficient. However, for heavy soiling, a more effective cleaning agent (wood cleaner or algae remover) is recommended. Follow the instructions on the product packaging.
If the wood is new or very dry, it can be primed with linseed oil primer (see instructions on the tin). After one hour, wipe off any excess primer with a cloth. After two days, the decking can be treated with decking oil
