The linseed oil paint Burnt Umber Medium is immediately ready to paint.
Burnt Umber Medium is an almost neutral shade of brown. It is not as dark and significantly warmer as our Burnt Umber Brown. It is less red than our Iron Oxide Brown. Burnt Umber Medium belongs to the group of ochre tones. The chemically bound water is removed by heating, which creates a dark and rather reddish colour. Burnt Umber Medium is an earth colour. Earth colours have the property that they never harden completely and always remain elastic. Especially at high temperatures caused by solar radiation, the paint follow the strong movements of the wood. Umber pigments consists of limonite, carbon and about 15% black manganese dioxide. Manganese dioxide has a catalyzing effect and causes the linseed oil paint to dry faster. Burnt umber has a higher opacity than natural umber, but remains slightly translucent. Burnt Umber Medium is lightfast.

You can choose whether you want the colour with or without a drying accelerator. The siccative additive accelerates the drying process by about one day.
We recommend priming with our cold-pressed linseed oil to saturate the wood.
If you are still undecided, you can order our colour samples.
(Please note: samples are without Desiccants)
